Eddie Howe is believed to be a huge fan of the 24-year-old, and has pushed for the England Under-21 international. Newcastle reportedly failed in a previous bid to bring Ramsey to Tyneside, but is finally getting his man, appeasing his concerns about squad size in the process.
Villa also reportedly had an approach for Ramsey from West Ham, but the East Londoners was not an option for the Villa man, who wanted to play in the Champions League.
The formalities of the deal are still to be fully agreed, but the deal will represent pure profit for Villa. Ramsey could be in line to face his old side immediately, with Villa Park welcoming Newcastle on Saturday.
